Bummer about the carseat, but I have to tell you my guy LOVES his convertible seat – his last month in the infant seat was miserable for all of us. He hated reclining, the straps where long enough to cover him, but not long enough to have comfortable space to get him in. I have no idea why I put the whole family through that. He was about 8 months, but is a big boy (still 95th percentile on everything.)

Remember we live in a litigious society and the car seat manufacturers are covering their rear-ends. I’m sorry you had a cruddy day. We all have house of card days, when everything just seems to conspire against us. The good news is no-one was hurt and tomorrow is another day!

It’s nice to have for the few times a year we rent, but I did go straight to the convertible. Praying we never have an accident so I can use it for this and possibly a future baby. Glad you are both ok.

Ugh, I know, tell me about it! I am mad that the manufacturer has such a ridiculous blanket policy. But it’s about time to move Judah into a convertible seat anyway, so whatever.

Tue, 23 Aug 2011 12:31:23 +0000http://www.livingwellonless.com/?p=4895#comment-40421We’ve had two minor accidents, and I kept the car seats. neither of the accidents were bad at all, no air bags, no major damage, drove away and all that jazz. I might have replaced the car seats after the first accident, but I totally forgot about that until after I had filed the accident report and had no clue how to get the insurance to cover it. since it was such a minor accident I saw no point. It’s one of those things I forgot about… and we can’t afford to replace 3 car seats just because someone took their foot off the gas at a stop light too soon and ran into the back of us from a parked position 4 feet behind us. lol
