I would hate for others to do business with this place. I know that I rely on Yelp when choosing a vet, and it’s always so helpful to find honest reviews.

Write them a letter — (that’s harder to refute than a phone call) describe your experience and tell them you exactly what you want them to do to make amends. Be as “neutral” in your description as possible. Just the facts maa’m. Stay away from being accusatory. I had a similar experience with another home service and wrote them a letter and they were fantastic in the way they handled it. People make mistakes, people have off days — but it is in the way they rectify it that makes the difference. This may still not be the vet for you, but at least you won’t feel so taken advantage of.

I would call the office back and tell them that after you thought about it more, you were very unsatisfied with their service. Maybe you could suggest that to satisfy you as a customer, the least they could do is write the prescription for the heartworm meds.

They should know just how unhappy you were with the services. And see what happens — and if nothing, then you should post a detailed review online somewhere so other future customers will see it.
