A tight budget keeps me accountable and forces me to live frugally. More money means more […]

I think it captures exactly the issue. Well, that one and this one… where he says “I believed that when you had money, you were supposed to spend it on something that brought you happiness immediately.” Well hello! That’s me right there! And that’s my mother, right there. Meals out were to “treat” herself for exhausting days…I do the same! The feast and famine finances are very very common. Here I was just biting my nails on how to get to Friday with just $50, and then I magically get a check for $700 from insurance reimbursement. Of course I immediately took my hubby out to lunch ($26.00 later). […]

Being aware that you could fall into old habits so easily is what will keep you on the right path. It’s easy to say you’re going to cut back and not eat out, or forgo getting your hair colored by your hairstylist (this one kills me!) and stick to it. It takes a lot of work to replace old habits with new ones. Our society is big on instant gratification and when I see my neighbors driving new vehicles while I drive a six-year old one, I have to remind myself they’re out $$$ every month while I’m able to hold onto mine and watch it grow.

Hang in there, you can do it!!!
